Breaking News Over a 24-Hour Period
News seems to be a fickle thing, especially in our day and age. With all the social media that we have, it is easy for something to become news quickly and be considered old news just as fast. Platforms such as "X" (Twitter) is used to share news and spread it quickly. Being a person who has only had "X" for a few weeks, I was surprised as to how many news stories I heard about on there in one day that I would not have heard about otherwise. These are just a few "breaking news", stories I saw over a 24-hour period of time.
This story is big enough I may have been able to hear about it on other platforms but was able to catch it on "X" first.
My dad actually spends some of his time on sites like "x" and Gab. He had sent this to me earlier in the day. He tries to keep us up to date on the news and current events by sending us posts and links he has come across. We actually live in a town with an extremely high crime rate and the schools there are really violent. Things like this have happened where I live but it is still shocking to see.
I had watched "The Act" a few years after it came out and was very intrigued by the story of Gypsy Rose. Because of that, this article was shocking to me. I was stunned when I saw this post and went to look up more about it. I have not seen this on any other main news platform after seeing it on "X". I was glad I came across it because I do always like keeping up with her story.
