 Anna McGough SAU President Trey Berry Abandons Campus Leaving the College to Find Interim President:   SAU's now former president Trey Berry has left his position as SAU for a position at Henderson University  in Arkansas. Trey sent out an email a few days before leaving, notifying the entire campus of his departure. He will officially start his new position at Henderson on January 1st of 2024. He left the campus rather suddenly and without much notice, giving the school little time to have someone lined up to take his place. While the school is  looking  for a new president to lead, David Rankin has been called in to be the interim president. David Rankin was once the president of SAU and will return as president on November 27th, 2023, until further notice.  Arkansas Democrat Gazette

 Anna McGough Mass Shooting at Morgan State University:     Morgan State University in Baltimore , Maryland, was shaken greatly on October 3, 2023, as shots rang out. A homecoming event was letting out as the shots were fired and five people were injured, four of which were students. The crowd letting out fled and the authorities  were notified. Not long after the shots were fired, SWAT came to the campus to look for the suspects of the shooting. A few hours after the shots were initially heard, it was declared  not to be an active shooter situation. The  police captured one of the suspects,  but the other is still at large and said to be armed and dangerous.  CNN   CNN

 Anna McGough     UAPB Celebrates Their 150th Anniversary:      University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff reaches their 150th year anniversary and invites the whole community to celebrate. UAPB was founded in 1875 to serve as a college for African American students to get a degree. It was moved to Pine Bluff because of it having a majority black population. It has served well as a college in Pine Bluff with a wide variety of degrees and majors.     The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is holding their celebration at the convention center in Pine Bluff not far from the college itself. There is to be no paid admission as well as being a family-friendly environment . They have set up many areas at the event where attendees can go and learn what they have to offer at their campus. This event was helped made possible by the Pine Bluff City Counsel, The Saracen Casino and Resort, and Go Forward Pine Bluff. All supported and donated to help celebrate this...
